Complaints can be submitted on Food Safety Connect mobile application or via Food Safety Compliance System. The tool facilitates easy submission of essential details such as front-of-pack images highlighting the misleading claim, the FSSAI license or registration number of the manufacturer, and the e-commerce URL if the product is being sold online.

The Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) has launched a new digital tool empowering consumers to report misleading claims on food labels directly. This initiative, facilitated through the Food Safety Connect app and the Food Safety Compliance System, enhances transparency and safeguards consumer rights by enabling swift action against non-compliant Food Business Operators (FBOs). Citizens can easily submit details like product images, manufacturer’s FSSAI license number, and online sale URLs to support regulatory enforcement.

Aligned with FSSAI’s mandate for truthful and scientifically substantiated food claims, the initiative strengthens ground-level vigilance. The Advertisement and Claims Monitoring Committee monitors label and advertisement compliance, emphasizing clarity and accuracy in food product information. FSSAI encourages widespread participation to foster integrity in food labeling and promote a healthier, informed society, with the Food Safety Connect app available on major app stores for convenient access.
